Double art nouveau inkwell in gilded bronze

Period: ca. 1890-1914. This double inkwell in gilded bronze is full of curves and swirls so typical of the art nouveau style. There are several elements of rococo style (louis xv) present such as the shell motif and the asymmetrical shape; early art nouveau was inspired by the rococo style. Here, the abundance of several wavy floral motifs makes this piece inherently art new. The shape of the asymmetrical stand rises on one side. Both inkwells have hinged lids and small metal pots are present. Status: very good. Dimensions: 25 cm long, 7 cm high, 15 cm wide, 480 g.
