Womb Chair 2nd edition by Eero Saarinen, Knoll around 1970

The Womb chair is the first fruit of the collaboration between Eero Saarinen, Charles Eames, and Florence Knoll. They designed it in 1940 at the request of Florence Knoll, who asked them for "a chair that will be like a basket filled with cushions." It was produced in 1948. It is one of the first mass-produced armchairs, decidedly modern for its time! This piece is a second edition, made of black flecked wool. Ottoman dimensions: H: 38 cm - W: 64 cm - D: 50 cm.
