Beautiful pair of antique columns / pedestals in dark stained wood, probably dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. Each piece features an elegant neoclassical silhouette: moulded square base, fluted cylindrical shaft, turned rings, and a square top. Their understated and architectural design is inspired by antique vocabulary and the Louis XVI style, with a lovely decorative presence. These columns can be used as pedestals, supports for vases, sculptures, busts, lamps, or plants. Presented as a pair, they create a very elegant symmetrical composition in an entrance hall, living room, on either side of a fireplace, a console, or in a cabinet of curiosities. The wood has a beautiful old patina, with a warm dark brown hue, natural variations, and visible signs of use as shown in the photos. These elements testify to their age and contribute to the authentic charm of the whole. Period: late 19th – early 20th century. Style: neoclassical / Louis XVI / return to antiquity. Material: dark stained wood. Shape: fluted shaft, square base, square top. Condition: old patina, visible signs of use and marks. Usage: vase, sculpture, lamp, plant, bust, or decorative object. Antique pair sold as is, with much charm and a beautiful decorative presence.
