Verlys cut to opalescent glass fishing birds

Large verlys cut 36 cm in diameter to fisherman birds in pressed pressed opalescent molded glass. Three birds and two fish decorate this dish. Mid table, cut, dish, empty pocket, several denominations and uses are possible. The cut is signed in relief verlys france (see photo) towards its center. Verlys, contraction of verrerie des andelys, created in 1925 by the holophane company, will focus solely on artistic production. This artistic production, unfortunately unprofitable for holophane, was abandoned around 1946. Today holophane has evolved into more technical applications especially in automotive lighting.
