Adjustable Chaise Longue in Bamboo and Woven Rattan

Magnificent vintage adjustable chaise longue, crafted from bent bamboo and woven rattan (wicker). This chair is a beautiful example of veranda, conservatory, or seaside furniture, very popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The backrest is adjustable (relaxing chair). A retractable footrest slides out from under the seat, allowing the chair to be transformed into a long chaise longue. Very good overall condition considering its age and materials. The bamboo frame is sturdy. The weaving is well-preserved (except for four broken strands visible in the photo) with a beautiful patina. The reclining mechanism and the sliding footrest function perfectly. The chair is perfectly stable and can support a normal weight without creaking.
