Set of 6 chairs model 319/12 designed for dining room No. 331 by the famous designer Bruno Paul in 1934 for Deutsche Werkstätten, Dresden-Hellerau. Materials: pear wood, dark stained, original hand-woven cane backrest, upholstered textile seat. Seat height: 45 cm. This model by Bruno Paul is exhibited at the SKD Museum in Dresden, Germany. Bruno Paul: A Visionary Designer Bruno Paul (1874-1968), German architect, designer, and caricaturist, is an iconic figure in 20th-century design. Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, he influenced designers such as Mies van der Rohe, creator of the famous Barcelona chair. Inspired by Henry van de Velde, Bruno Paul made his mark in design history with his furniture featuring simple lines and functional metal objects. Bibliography: Exh. Cat. Bruno Paul, ed. By A.
