Silver teapot / jug Minerva first standard – Louis XV style

Superb French solid silver teapot (or jug) in Louis XV style, made by the silversmith Charles Harleux, as evidenced by his diamond-shaped maker's mark. It is stamped with the Minerva 1st title (950/1000), guaranteeing high-quality silver, and dates from the late 19th century (circa 1891). This elegant piece features a baluster silhouette resting on four scrolling feet with rocaille decoration. The spout is richly moulded with scrolls, and the lid is topped with a leaf-shaped finial. Each side is adorned with a medallion with a knotted ribbon, one of which bears an elegant engraved monogram. The quality of its chiselling, harmonious proportions, and the finesse of its execution testify to the craftsmanship of the silversmith Charles Harleux, active in Paris in the late 19th century.
