A stunning pair of low-slung, danish-made lounge chairs, originating from the 1960s and very much in keeping with the scandinavian modernist tradition. Each frame is made of sturdy teak, refinished to bring out its natural woody hues. The fabric has been reupholstered in champagne-coloured, organic bouclé from the isle mill. The gently akimbo legs have a pleasingly mid-century form, which culminates in the forked backrests – very reminiscent of jens risom’s famous u-416 lounge armchairs. The seats for this piece, despite appearing small, actually have a very generous surface area, and as such are a joy to sit in. The fabric used in this piece is now out of production, making these slipper armchairs highly sought-after. Comfortable, cool, charming – these chairs would be a hit in almost any interior.
