Series of four chairs in solid mahogany and brass fillets, heart-shaped backrest, spacer legs. Original gold leather trim. English work in the taste of hepplewhite. Period: early twentieth century. Wear and tear and small restorations (see photos) Dimensions: height 96 cm, width 50 cm, depth 45 cm, weight about 10kg each. Desired on-site pick-up, shipping via cocolis possible on quote. Hepplewhite, george (- 1786): english cabinetmaker and furniture designer whose name is associated with the neoclassical style. He became known after his death with the publication of his collection of engravings "the cabinet maker and upholsterer's guide", presenting his famous creations of seats with openwork back in the shape of a shield (shield-back).
