Distinct and expressive brushstrokes convey the energy and hustle and bustle of the city. Rich, earthy, and textured colours in deep reds, blues and greens have been applied swiftly, creating a sense of depth and space in the picture. The artist has probably painted this ‘en plein air’ (outdoors), and so has captured the dynamism of the view before him/her. The painted is housed a very complementary light wood mid century frame which suits it very well. Both painting and frame are in good vintage condition.
