Large antique vegetable dish from the Gien pottery, model "Chèvrefeuille", in opaque porcelain / Terre de Fer, 1886-1938. Bulbous shape resting on a small foot, framed by two elegant sculpted handles. The Chèvrefeuille decoration, printed in a magnificent raspberry red, generously unfolds on the ivory earthenware: flowers, foliage, and fine stems are complemented by a delicate frieze running under the rim. The low and ample shape allows it to be used naturally today as a vegetable dish, large serving bowl, fruit bowl, or centrepiece. It is superbly repurposed as a container for a floral arrangement. Gien stamp with the coat of arms: "Opaque Porcelain of Gien – Terre de Fer – Chèvrefeuille", as well as an impressed number corresponding to a manufacturing mark. In good antique condition with significant and very aesthetic crazing of the glaze, characteristic of its age. Patina, traces, and old colourations, particularly inside and on the rim. The exterior decoration is well preserved and very prominent (see photos). Height 12.5 cm – diameter at the opening 20.5 cm – diameter at the widest point 27 cm – total width with handles 29 cm. Patinated ivory, raspberry red, plant lines: nearly 100 years old and an intact modernity.
