Mid-century oil painting

An expressive and atmospheric mid-century modernist landscape composition, executed in oil onto canvas. The foreground of the painting presents a group of tall and slender white trees. Standing in an open meadow, the trees exude a sense of elegance and tranquility. Behind the trees and partially concealed lie a row of houses, and in the background of the painting, a misty mountain range unfolds. The artist has selected a light and muted pastel colour palette comprising shades of white, green, blue, and brown, that evoke a soft and uplifting atmosphere. The brushstrokes used are short, swift, and expressive, capturing the movement of the artist’s hand and infusing the composition with a dynamic energy. This large oil on canvas is housed in a complementary silver frame with an inner silver and linen window. The painting is in very good vintage condition. The linen lining on the frame has a slight rippling but this is much less obvious in person. There are some very minor scuffs to the frame that certainly do not detract from its overall attractiveness. Please note that the painting is quite heavy due to the thick backing board on the reverse. Size: 66 X 75 cm (including frame).
