4 barbotine plates with pansies H. Boulenger Choisy-le-Roi

Set of four antique majolica plates decorated with relief pansies, in a soft palette of powder pink, mauve, cream yellow, and muted green. The floral decoration slightly overflows onto the edges of the plates, creating a lively relief characteristic of naturalistic productions from the late 19th century. Each plate features variations in painting and modelling that give the set its artisanal character and visual depth. Stamped HB (Hippolyte Boulenger) & Cie Choisy-le-Roi, late 19th to very early 20th century. In beautiful vintage condition, with a patina of time and fine natural cracks in the glaze, expected in this type of antique production; three plates have chips underneath the base (see photos).
