Wall plaque in floral mosaic, circa 1900. Charming polychrome mosaic wall plaque with a stylised floral design, composed of tesserae forming four pinkish-red flowers with sinuous green stems set against a luminous gold background. The composition is framed within a trilobed ogival silhouette, evoking the aesthetics of stained glass and the medieval inspiration reinterpreted by Art Nouveau. The design, animated by a supple and balanced vegetal rhythm, perfectly illustrates the taste of the Belle Époque for organic lines and the decorative stylisation of the plant world. Made from carefully adjusted glass or glazed ceramic tesserae, the mosaic features a vibrant surface that captures light thanks to its golden background, giving the whole piece a particularly refined decorative presence. The panel is mounted on a zinc plate at the back, retaining its original metal wall hanging system, indicating that it was conceived from the outset as a decorative wall element.
