SCHNEIDER - attributed to Robert-Henri Schneider. Vase – or Pitcher – with a wide spherical and globular body, the flared neck, made of solid blown glass and shaped with a tool, translucent decorated with a light Celadon tint, and richly decorated with intercalated air bubbles, of variable dimensions. Stylized handle applied hot, which can evoke the wings of a butterfly, a flame... Very beautiful design, sober, refined and atypical, very original, which can at the same time bring to mind the works of André Thuret, glassmaker, or Daum. Influence both traditionalist and contemporary, Art Deco. SIGNATURE stamped on the body of the vase, on the edge of the neck, "Schneider"; we also find the mention "France", stamped on the back of the base, at the pontil. Circa the first half of the 20th century. The model would tend to make one think of a creation by Robert-Henri Schneider (son of the founder, Charles Schneider); however, the signature seems to be from the beginning of the 20th century... BIBLIOGRAPHY: Conches Glass Museum, invitation brochure for the inauguration of "the new glass display cases from the first half of the 20th century" (June 2014). DIMENSIONS: - Height, oscillates between 16.00 (spout) and 22.50 CM (top of the "fin"); - total and maximum span, at the most curved, is approximately 17.00 CM; - diameters are 08.50 at the neck (at the top), and 12.00-13.00 CM at the base (approximately). CONDITION OF PRESERVATION: vase in very good condition; no accidents, no chips, no shocks, no lacks. Some very light scratches on the back of the base of the vase, barely visible (since they are located underneath), and without any real impact; slight original defect (?) in the base of the fin (inclusion of dust?; see additional photos). Some very light scratches, also, and in rare places, inside the vase (see photos), without real gravity, very little visible, and in no way altering its interest.
