This tribe is renowned for producing some of the finest wool in the world and their rugs have a remarkably soft and plush texture. Each of our carefully selected beni ouarain rugs has been woven knot by knot using ancestral techniques passed down from mother to daughter through the generations. The beni ouarain tribe traditionally uses raw wool, which is why it is more common to see these rugs in white/cream colourways with natural black or brown patterns created by the wool of the black sheep in the herd. Today, weavers enjoy greater artistic freedom by using colours based on natural pigments, which is why we have, to our great delight, pretty, thick, colourful béni ouarain rugs.
