Samadet earthenware lamp foot mounted in lamp decorated with pigeon and flowers. Functional. Sold without lampshade, we imagine very well a white or green lampshade. The vase on which the lamp is mounted is from the eighteenth century. Unfortunately, this lamp has lost a handle but this does not detract from its charm and rarity. Height: 29cm. Officially created in 1732, the royal manufacture of "fayance" of samadet knows a rapid development under the impetus of a director and experienced painters. It floods the markets of gers and béarn, has stores in montauban, toulouse, la rochelle and exports to northern europe. But the golden age will not last a century. The craze for fine earthenware and porcelain got the better of the small factory, which had to close its doors in 1840.
