Vintage Jielde wall applique stripped and polished

Beautiful original Jielde wall applique from a French car factory. Designed by French engineer Jean-Louis Domecq in the 1950s to be used in factories as a working lamp. (The name "Jielde" comes from the French pronunciation of his initials: I-iL-De). Following the specifications of being "simple, robust and articulated to fit all workstations", the Jielde lamp is an emblematic French industrial piece. Original brass switch. Fully functional and in good vintage condition. Some wear proportional to age and use. The light was stripped of his original painting and polished. A bayonet connection.
