Antique Birdcage, India

A charming antique birdcage from rajasthan. Constructed from tropical hardwood and iron, it has a tall cylindrical design, complete with a vertical sliding door and hanging hook. A fairly primitive piece, with a simple construction, it has original, hand forged, iron details, with a particularly nice flourish to the door pull. It comes with the signs of wear, and the odd artisan repair, attributable to its age and use. With tons of character, it’s a lovely decorative piece. Dimensions: height 46cm width 37cm.
