Set of 7 blown glass goblets, French production, circa 1950. The shape immediately catches the eye. A flared chalice, almost in a corolla, whose line opens and then slightly narrows before joining the stem. This geometry gives the glass a stable and elegant presence, without rigidity. The decoration features a play of golden threads applied in a spiral. They accompany the shape without constraining it, creating a continuous movement around the glass. The gold trim is also found on the foot, reinforcing the coherence of the whole. Each piece rests on a coloured base — blue, green, pink, yellow — subtly integrated into the mass of the glass. This detail introduces a visual variation that breaks with uniformity and gives the series a lively, almost musical character. Dimensions: Diameter at the rim 5.5 cm. Total height 8.5 cm. Height of the chalice 6 cm. These glasses are designed for liqueurs or digestifs, but easily find their place in alternative uses: contemporary table, decorative accumulation, composition on a shelf. A coherent set in its shape, free in its colour. Typical of this period when domestic glass could still play with light. €55.
