Old oil painting on panel signed claudia bret- chardonnier

The armful of flowers signed lower right and countersigned on the back dimensions 36 X 51cm and 47 X 62 cm with frame. Claudia bret-charbonnier was born in lyon in 1863. She died in 1951. A student of médard, cabane and pradel, she exhibited at the salon de lyon from 1885 and at the paris salon from 1899. In 1900, she obtained a second medal at the salon de lyon and in 1914, the bronze medal at the salon des artistes français of which she was a member. Painter of flowers, her taste for precision does not exclude a certain liveliness of the hand. It is with a sure touch that she makes her flowers luscious and fresh. Due to its dimensions, this work is very decorative. Claudia bret-charbonnier is listed in the "bénézit" and in the dictionary of "petits maîtres de la peinture" by gérald schurr and pierre cabanne. The painting is in good condition with a gilt frame without any damage.
