Wooden Tripod Pedestal Table with Bronze Legs and Finishes

Period: ca. 1920s-1930s an attractive and unique pedestal table. The three curved legs are made of bronze and are decorated with acanthus leaves. The stem is made from a baluster-shaped piece of fruitwood and a section of fluted brass. The round wooden top has been painted black (it was no longer necessary to return it to its original wooden state) and is lined with a beautiful brass/bronze finish adorned with embossed leaves and scrolls. The table comes with a custom-ordered transparent plexiglass top to protect it. This table is very heavy! This table was saved from the office of the director of papeteries (paper factory) in genval, belgium, during the great fire in 1936. Condition: good. Robust. The table top was damaged and has been refinished with matte black paint and is protected by a plexiglass plate. Dimensions: 59 cm in height, 50 cm in diameter, 43 cm in width at the feet, 12 kg.
