This Hollywood Regency lamp caught our attention with its exceptional design and cubist structure. The designer used squares and cubes to form triangles and pyramids in this sculptural reinterpretation of what a table lamp should be. As fascinating as an Escher engraving, the reflective brass and chrome tubes of the body are arranged in a cube pointing upwards, open on three sides, allowing the body to rest on three corners. This idea of the three-sided cube continues in the lampshade, which rests on three chrome tubes that also hold the sockets for the three bulbs. This style of two-tone lamps is often associated with designers Willy Rizzo and Romeo Rega, and geometric lamps in brass and chrome have been produced by various companies such as Lumica or Arte Lumen. Although this lamp bears no brand or label, it remains a beautiful piece of mid-century design.
