Vintage mid-century Italian ceramic salad bowl or dish with scale decoration.

Rare very beautiful salad bowl or decorative dish in glazed terracotta, unsigned, vintage Italian production from the 1950s-1960s. In a very mid-century style. Circular shape, resting on a small short foot. The exterior is adorned with a decoration of incised scales, enhanced with a deep ochre yellow glaze highlighted with shaded greens in the incisions and the striated edges at the top and bottom. The interior, glazed white, is decorated with a radiating pattern of geometric incisions, centred around the striated ochre and green centre. Approximately 11 cm in height and 22 cm in diameter. In very good condition, with only a few small discreet chips or slight original glaze defects, without major chips or cracks, consistent with its use. Weighs approximately 1, 300-1, 500 kg.
