Vintage Indian Cabinet with Iron Railway Insert Door, Narrow Drinks Cabinet, No2

This is an unusual narrow and fairly tall cabinet which originates from india. It is perfect for an alcove, a useful piece which could be used as a drinks cabinet or for storing other small items. We have two of these cabinets, the other cabinet is darker in colour. Made of indian hardwood the cabinet is heavy and solid, the front fitted with a single narrow door inset with an old cast iron grill which is supposedly from an indian railway station. The door has two wooden toggles to keep it closed and the cupboard interior is fitted with a single fixed shelf. The wood has a natural waxed finish. Condition. This piece is in good structural condition but is quite rustic looking as with most pieces of old indian furniture. There are some scratches to the top of the cabinet, as shown. Measurements. Height - 114.5cms. Width - 47.25cms at the top, 45.5cms at the base. Depth - 34.5cms at the top, 35cms at the base. Internally the top shelf measures 52cms high, the bottom shelf 48cms high. Shelves measure 23cms deep and 37cms wide. The measurements are taken at the widest points.
