This lithograph “Aspects of Nature - Twilight” is signed by Henri Rivière and has a red stamp in the bottom left corner. The work is authentic and old. Regarding its condition, there are crease marks in the margin, small tears (0.5 cm), ink lines, slightly creased corners, and small stains. On the lithograph, we note a small lack of ink at the top and very tiny stains. The lithograph has very fresh colours; once framed, most of the defects will be less visible. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then with soft-ground etching, specifically etching in 1882. At the same time, he started a career as a director and set designer in 1886 at the shadow theatre of the Chat Noir cabaret, enhancing performances with innovative colour backdrops. He then dedicated himself exclusively to painting and engraving, making a mark in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolour (he painted around a thousand watercolours).
