This beautiful stoneware pitcher has a simple yet elegant shape! It's also practical, easy to clean, and very stable thanks to the weight of its base. Made of Puisaye stoneware, it features a lovely glaze that blends soft, comforting tones of beige, caramel, and chocolate—a material and color palette typical of the 1970s. A fine piece of craftsmanship by potter Jean-Pierre Prud'homme, who signed it on the base. Jean-Pierre Prud'homme and his wife founded a pottery workshop in Monnaie in 1971, working with clay from the Nièvre region (Puisaye stoneware). The workshop still exists today, run by his son Benoît, who took over in the 1990s and 2000s and also creates beautiful ceramics. The glaze on this pitcher is even more refined, with more color nuances, than on other pieces by this ceramist, so I believe it dates from the late 1970s. It is in perfect condition, with no flaws to report. It measures 15.5 cm high, 19.5 cm wide including the handle, and 14.5 cm in diameter. If you would like to pair it with cups or glasses, that's possible; take a look at my shop, where you'll find other Prud'homme pieces, including stemmed glasses and various cup designs.
