A rare and visually striking desk from the ‘Duo’ series, designed by renowned German designer Peter Maly for Interlübke in the 1980s. This piece is a brilliant example of late 20th-century modernist design, clearly inspired by the principles of the De Stijl movement with its geometric composition and bold primary colors. The desk features a circular red tabletop supported by cylindrical blue legs, a sleek angled black work surface, and a rectangular yellow base. Each component stands as a distinct visual form, yet together they create a balanced and sculptural whole — a hallmark of Maly's design philosophy. The desk is made of colour stained wood and lacquered metal (blue legs) Produced by Interlübke, one of Germany’s leading manufacturers of high-quality modern furniture, this desk is a rare collector’s piece. It works beautifully as a creative workstation, statement piece, or even as functional art in a design-focused interior. The condition of the item is very good. It has some normal traces of age and usage that don't affect in any way the functionality, structure, and stability nor the aesthetical appeal. Metal legs painted in blue have some visible scratches and wooden parts show some light and superficial scratches caused by the usage. There are no traces of repairs and the desk remains in its original condition. Please note that in some of the photos lacquered surface of the wooden parts shows reflection of the light and shadows.
