Beautiful original work signed by Pierre Chevillard, dated 1973, depicting a bouquet of Jacobaea (Senecio jacobaea) in a vase. Very decorative piece with a lovely textured finish on the flowers and a deep blue background highlighting the subject. The work is executed on panel (technique not expertised, probably oil on panel given the texture and finish). Signature visible at the bottom left and date at the bottom right. Handwritten annotation on the back: "Jacobée". Dimensions: With frame: 28 × 24 cm. Without frame: 18 × 14 cm. Condition: Painting in very good overall condition. Frame showing some small chips and signs of use at the corners and edges (see photos) Original backing preserved.
