Small gilded bronze Oba mask, Bamoun, Cameroon, vintage Africa

Small bronze face mask of Oba, handcrafted, Bamoun, Cameroon, Africa. Vintage mid-20th century, or slightly earlier. Decorative purpose or used during commemorative ceremonies and tributes. The object is adorned with a suspension ring moulded directly into the headdress. Irregular back and natural patina showing slight signs of oxidation, a testament to artisanal work. The face depicted, in a traditional style, displays a serene expression, large slightly bulging eyes, and a slightly smiling mouth. It also features a fan-shaped striped beard, a symbol of dignity. It wears a headdress or crown adorned with spikes. A very lovely small object that will delight African art enthusiasts. 16 cm in height, 10 cm in width, and 4 to 5 cm in thickness depending on the curvature. In very good condition, natural use and patina, small holes particularly in the headdress, due to the manufacturing technique, of origin and proof of its authenticity. Approximately 700g.
