Pair of armchairs by René-Jean Caillette, 1950s

Pair of armchairs/lounge chairs offering a low seat and an inclined backrest with clean lines, model FS144 by René-Jean Caillette from the early 1950s. The beech wood structure supports a type of Free-span suspension/ spring frame and upholstery covered in grey/blue fabric. The side rail connects to the back leg almost at its end. This design gives the impression of a seat resting on the ground, very trendy at the time with the new fashion of "living close to the ground." They are in very good condition and have been recently refurbished.
