Japanese porcelain vase from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century (Meiji period 1868-1912): tapered with a wavy/scalloped corolla-type flared neck. Mainly hand painted enamelled orange. Identical scene on each side of the vase in an orange cartouche: warrior (samurai) at rest, in kimono sitting cross-legged on carpet holding a gunsen (war fan) decorated with a red hi no maru (rising sun, symbol of Japan). The rest of the vase is decorated with orange gray pink leaves and flowers on a bed of green grass. The polylobed collar has 24 festoons. No markings on the underside of the vase. An enameled marking is visible above one of the scenes (see photo) which means in Japanese "seven left" or "seven left". Manufacture imari or kutani Dimensions 27cm high, 7.5cm diameter at the base, 10.5cm in diameter at the neck and central belly part. Some cooking accidents in the neck and under the neck (see photo) otherwise tbe vase without fel or missing. Unpackaged weight 1kg.
