The 'Ring Around' pedestal bowl, produced by the Ząbkowice Household Glassworks in the 1970s, reflects the spirit of Polish utility glass of the era. Made of pressed glass in a light blue colour, it retains a slight transparency and moderate colour saturation. The octagonal, solid base contrasts with the softer shaped bowl. The form is accentuated by regular, vertical grooves that rhythmically surround the body from the base to the wavy rim, and subtly exposed lines typical of pressed glass. The entire surface remains smoothly glossy and uniform, with thicker parts of the glass taking on a slightly deeper shade of blue. The bowl is free from chips, cracks or signs of restoration – in very good, original condition. This bowl reflects the practicality and delicate decorativeness of post-war modernism: the transparent blue glass lets light through to the table, and the repetitive geometric grooves refer to the orderly utilitarian aesthetics of the 1970s.
