3025 – pair of large hand-decorated opaline vases with marks on the heel – napoleon III from the napoleon III period, this real pair of large opaline vases entirely hand-decorated in good condition. No cracks or chips. Winter decoration predominantly painted green and enameled with an inverted polychrome landscape on each vase on a cream background. In the foreground a leafless tree partially covered in snow overhanging a path leading to a wooden gate and a house with a castle on a hill in the distance. They are baluster in shape with green foot and collar and gilding fillets. Slightly crystalline sound. Each vase has a different colored mark on the heel (photos). Height 319mm X 155mm.
