Sobriety and sophistication for this pendant lamp designed by louis kalff in the 60s for philips, in opaline glass and teak. Minimal wear traces, see photos. - Louis christiaan kalff (1897-1976) is a dutch designer and architect, a key figure in the history of industrial design of the twentieth century. His name is inseparable from that of the lighting company philips where he began his career aged 27 after sending his application to anton philips and in which he highlights the lack of modernism of the company. Twenty years later in 1946 he was appointed artistic director and designed for philips both advertisements and lighting and other objects such as the iconic chapel radio (1931). He is also known for his architectural achievements such as the evoluon museum (1966) in the shape of a spaceship.
