Original swedish mid-century oil on panel “portrait” by bertil brolin (1913-2003) - vintage & framed. An absolute on-of a kind portrait by renowned swedish artist. Dimension with frame approx. 43x43 cm. Signed. Condition: overall very good vintage condition with some age related marks. Bertil olof brolin, born march 20, 1913 in gothenburg, died there january 18, 2003, was a swedish artist. He was the son of chamberlain enoch brolin and alice dahllöf. Brolin studied with nils nilsson at valand's painting school in gothenburg 1941–1945 and during study trips to france and the netherlands. Separately, he exhibited in ludvika and falun and participated in group exhibitions at gothenburg's art gallery several times. His art consists of figurines and landscape paintings. Brolin is represented at gävle museum, helsingborg museum and borås art museum.he is buried in the eastern cemetery in gothenburg. Rex studied painting in gothenburg. His first exhibition was a joint exhibition with the artist einar krüger held at the hotel mårtensson in halmstad in 1944. They exhibited together again (in halmstad) in 1948 and went to study in paris during the spring on 1948. Rexs first solo exhibition was in 1949. In the early 1950s rex met the artist carl johansson (1863-1944) and he began working in a more graphic style. Rexs retrospective exhibition was held at the city library in halmstad in 1957.
