Silkscreen printing

'connect' is a series of hand printed 3 - colour screen prints on paper folded creating a unique print. Katya placed the screen prints directly next to each other creating a large piece of work, connecting the horizontal and vertical coloured stripes, creating contrasts, rhythm and an energetic experience. Katya experimented with techniques and materials and how the screen prints can be visualised. She researched the work of bauhaus artist's josef and anni albers, otti berger, gunta stölzl and benita koch-otte. The process inspired katya to continue to explore the work, she created designs of repeated patterns of the screen prints in various layouts with adobe photoshop. Katya painted the final designs on cotton and linen canvas and created collages of the screen prints. Connect screen prints collage, hand screen printed on 200gsm paper, 84.1 X 59.4 cm, 2020/21.
