This pair consists of two "Moji" armchairs, designed by the Japanese designer Shigeru Uchida (1943-2016) for the Italian company Poltrona Frau. The publisher's archive document records the design of the model in 1998. The labels and certificates of authenticity kept with this pair attest to a manufacture date of 2006. The model belongs to a late phase of Uchida's work, known as one of the leading Japanese designers of his generation, with his work present in various public collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The edition by Poltrona Frau provides a coherent material translation of this formal research. The historical craftsmanship of the company, founded in 1912, in leather work is evident in the precision of the upholstery, the consistent tension of the covering, and the treatment of the piping. The model can thus be understood as the meeting point between Uchida's characteristic spatial reduction and the Italian mastery of high-end upholstered seating. Each armchair retains its label underneath and its "Poltrona Frau" embossed mark at the bottom of the backrest. Two certificates of authenticity—one for each armchair—along with a control coupon accompany the set. The armchairs are stable, homogeneous, and have undergone professional cleaning. Residual wear is consistent with age and use. — Dimensions per armchair: H 70.5 × W 68.5 × D 68.5 cm. Seat height: 42 cm. Indicative weight (per unit): 25-30 kg.
