These two antique earthenware plates are captivating with their naive floral decoration, entirely hand-painted. Country bouquet motifs tied with a blue ribbon, bold and joyful colors (yellow, green, brown, deep blue): a rustic chic spirit that evokes country tables and traditional tableware from the southwest or inland Brittany. Their slightly scalloped silhouette and the spontaneity of the brushwork give them a beautiful authenticity, in the spirit of regional artisanal earthenware. No manufacturer's stamp, simply a capital "M" painted on the reverse, probably the initial of a small workshop or an independent decorator. In the 1960s–1980s, there was a real return to naive and handmade decorations, in a vein close to the European wabi sabi aesthetic: imperfect, simple, warm. Diameter 24 cm In good vintage condition, minimal signs of use, no chips or cracks. Perfect for decorative use, as a wall accumulation or to set a pretty table with a floral and colorful accent.
