Set of 6 chairs, model 78 in rosewood, by Niels Moller, circa 60's

Set of six rio rosewood dining chairs, danish paper rope seat, by niels moller, for j l møller møbelfabrik, denmark, circa 60's. Iconic chairs, cream of the crop of the scandinavian chair with a light and airy design were handmade and designed in 1962.acquired from the original owner, the set is in excellent original condition and vintage condition with some traces and marks of time and use on the structure and patina of time. The structures were completely cleaned, treated and oiled with linseed oil. The seats are impeccable because they have been completely redone to the original by hand by one of the few craftsmen mastering this technique. The natural/beige colored rope was ordered from denmark and has a thickness of 3.5 mm. The restoration of the seats required more than 40 hours of work and more than 6 months of patience. Rosewood models are increasingly difficult to obtain, as rosewood is no longer allowed in furnishings for its protection. Seat height 45 cm.
