Fig-shaped oil lamp, stoneware soliflore, signed ceramic.

Very beautiful ceramic in the shape of a ball or fig, which was originally an oil lamp with its second opening featuring a cork stopper and a wick found in the body of the lamp. However, this ceramic will also make a lovely soliflore and, above all, an original and very successful artisanal piece to complement a collection of ceramics. It is indeed the result of a very fine artisanal work in terms of turning, modelling, and glazing. Its lines are very elegant and delicate with this fine mouth. The glazing in chocolate, black, khaki, and beige tones with iridescent, pearlescent reflections is very harmonious, with the colours blending naturally into one another. The following is merely speculation based on research and comparisons: it could be of Danish or Scandinavian origin from the 1960s or 70s. Underneath, there is a mark, perhaps a signature or possibly a "natural" crack, either overlapping or not with the signature. Despite my research, it is difficult to have certainties about this very lovely ceramic, so I leave it to you to judge, and if this mark, this piece, or this glazing "speaks" to you, I would be delighted to learn more myself. This ceramic is in perfect condition, with no cracks, chips, or even a nick. It measures 11 cm in height and approximately 10 cm in maximum diameter. It comes with its stopper and wick.
