Framed Modernist Swedish Oil Painting "Cubist Coastal Town"

Cubist coastal town. Size: 42 X 50 cm (including frame) Oil on canvas. A gentle and captivating modernist coastal townscape, executed in oil onto canvas and dated 1999. The artist has used a very soothing colour palette to present this picturesque town by the coast filled with houses and trees. Incorporating elements of geometric abstraction and cubism, this painting has a strong focus on line, shape and form. The artist has fragmented the various forms down to geometric angular shapes in contrasting colours to highlight their three-dimensional form, whilst simultaneously emphasising the two-dimensional flatness of the canvas. This oil on canvas is housed in a slim silver frame, which complements the painting very well. The frame has some minor scuffs, but overall the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
