Rare oak sideboard, inspired by the creations of Gustave Serrurier-Bovy, combining geometric rigor and decorative refinement. Its silhouette is distinguished by a central projection that animates the façade and asserts its architectural character. This projection is formed notably by two turned columns in blackened wood, each accented with brass rings at the top and bottom — an emblematic detail of Serrurier-Bovy's aesthetic, where the dialogue between wood and gilded metal plays an essential role. The upper part features two curved drawers, each equipped with a drop handle and a brass lock. At the bottom, two doors open to reveal a geometric Art Deco veneer, composed of inlays of mother-of-pearl and stained wood. Their facades, shaped to follow the lines of the piece, are fitted with functional locks, a skeleton key, and a discreet pull. The whole exudes an impression of sophisticated sobriety, where the warmth of the oak, the precision of the veneer, and the metallic accents balance in a spirit that is both Art Deco and true to the influence of Serrurier-Bovy. A piece that combines elegance, structure, and attention to detail. Period: 1930. Excellent condition after restoration in our workshop. Finish: waxed. Width: 120 cm Depth: 55 cm Height: 99 cm. Reference 080426.2.
