Roger Capron, born in Vincennes on September 4, 1922 and died in Cannes on November 8, 2006, is a French ceramist. Biography The beginnings Initially interested in drawing, Roger Capron was a student at the École des Arts Appliqués on rue Dupetit-Thouars in Paris from 1938 to 1943, before teaching drawing there from 1945. The discovery of ceramics pushed him to change medium: on February 6, 1946 he moved to Vallauris, where he created a ceramics workshop, Callis.
