Oak professional furniture - Chest of drawers

Real piece of professional furniture from the early 1900s in solid oak. Found in saint nazaire from the nephew of its former owner, according to him it came either from the société nationale des chemins de fer français in donges (current sncf) or from a former power station. In any case this one was definitely used to sort and store small equipment, proof of this is the presence of small compartments still visible in the bottom of certain drawers and which I have carefully preserved as a guarantee of its authenticity. A hole in the center of the top, since filled, and the traces of use also suggest the use of a mechanical device formerly attached to this piece of furniture. It was also possible to lock it using a flap with a lock (out of use) on the right side of the furniture. However, this flap does not hinder the opening of the drawers now. This incredible piece has been completely washed, brushed, repaired, consolidated and then treated. The exterior was then very lightly sanded to preserve its numerous traces of use from various origins. A piece of furniture with character that is now healthy, robust and ready for a new life. You will store your laundry as well as your books or other objects in its five large and vast drawers decorated with brass buttons, almost all original.
