Scandinavian modern dining table by Jacob Kielland-Brandt for I. Christiansen, Denmark, 1960s

A distinctive Scandinavian Modern dining table designed by Jacob Kielland-Brandt and produced by I. Christiansen in Denmark during the 1960s. Crafted from solid pine, the table is defined by its strong architectural construction and generous proportions. Sculptural trestle legs are connected by a substantial central stretcher, creating a clear and expressive structure while providing excellent stability. The broad solid pine tabletop displays a rich natural grain, knots and subtle variations in tone, giving the table warmth and character. Its combination of structural clarity, honest use of materials and slightly rustic presence is characteristic of Scandinavian pine furniture from the period. With its impressive 200 cm length, the table has a strong presence while retaining the restrained simplicity associated with Danish modern design.
