Authentic vase, in glazed blue ceramic, signed by the famous French ceramist Alphonse Mouton, known as "Alpho". This is the mould model Number 2, as engraved under the vase next to the artist's signature. A true figure of the Art Deco movement, Alpho was born in 1900 into a family of potters. He worked in Saint-Vallier, located in the southeast of France, from the 1930s to 1980. This vase, approximately 10cm tall, features intense and deep blue glazes, typical of Alphonse Mouton's work. The handwritten numbering "2" inscribed under the base, next to the signature, is characteristic of his production: each piece or small series bears a model number. The neck, with its metal mount in brass or tin, could serve as a neck and suggests that this small vase may have had a function as a flask or small soliflore, rather than just an open vase.
