Wicker or rattan wastepaper basket, basket or plant pot

This beautiful tall, slightly conical basket made of finely woven wicker will bring a natural and cozy touch to any room in the house: a wastepaper basket, a plant pot cover, or a basket for your knitting project, it will find many uses. The distinctive weave, with flat, wide vertical strands interwoven with thin horizontal strands, suggests it probably dates from the 1960s or 70s. It is in good overall condition, still quite sturdy, with no broken strands, but it does show the patina of time and use: a few small, barely visible stains or marks on the outside and two stains on the inside (white paint and black ink) that remain despite careful cleaning with soapy water. It measures 28 cm high, 28 cm in diameter at the top, and 20 cm in diameter at the bottom.
