Large Maitland-Smith tessellated stone and brass coffee table 1980s

This 1980s coffee table by Maitland-Smith features an eye-catching geometric form characteristic of the maximalist movement from the late 20th century. The frame is clad with a mosaic of grey and black tessellated stone tiles, detailed with a flush-set brass inlay running along the top edge and columns. At the centre, an inset clear glass panel lightens the substantial piece. The corners are anchored by neo-classical Roman style columns with stylised details. The table remains in very good condition. The tessellated stone mosaic is completely intact, with no missing tiles, deep scratches, or repairs. The table shows only light age-appropriate surface wear to the central glass top from normal use.
