Vintage Scandinavian side table with pull-out shelf

Side table produced in Sweden during the 1960s, featuring a tubular metal frame and teak-finished tops. The main top is complemented by a pull-out side shelf, designed to provide additional surface space when needed while maintaining the table's compact footprint. This type of furniture was originally intended for professional environments, where it was commonly used as a projector table. In meeting rooms, offices and educational institutions, the main top supported slide or film projectors, while the pull-out shelf provided extra space for slide trays, documents or other accessories required during presentations. The castors allowed the table to be moved easily from one room to another, meeting the flexibility requirements of office furniture at the time. The original AB Lindqvist Kontorsmöbler label, still present on the piece, documents its Swedish origin and its connection with office furniture production. The combination of the tubular metal frame and teak-finished tops reflects the language of Scandinavian design of the 1960s, where functionality, durability and quality materials were combined in a clean, understated aesthetic.
